Akshay Arora – Founder & Director

 

​Akshay is a passionate foodie who has always believed that great food is a recipe for connection and joy. He loved classic comfort food—think pizzas, burgers, and everything indulgent—but he started wondering: could these favorites be better for us and kinder to the planet?

​When he discovered the world of plant-based eating, everything clicked. He realized he could still enjoy all the cheesy, delicious flavors he loved, but without compromising health or harming animals. This powerful realization led him to found The Gourmet Leaf.

​Akshay’s vision is simple but mighty: to redefine comfort food through a compassionate, modern lens and make plant-based eating accessible, exciting, and truly satisfying for everyone!

​Akshay brings a sharp business vision and a real passion for sustainable growth to The Gourmet Leaf.

​He has a great grasp of operations and customer experience, which helps him create a seamless bridge between amazing taste, strong ethics, and innovation. His core belief is that plant-based food can be both indulgent and accessible. This is what drives our mission to make conscious eating a totally natural and easy choice for everyone who walks through our doors.

Amrita’s entire journey into the plant-based world started with a profound moment of realization: she saw how much harm the traditional dairy and meat industries cause animals, all for the sake of human habit. This awakening led her to become an ethical vegan two years ago—a decision that completely transformed her life and purpose.

Driven by deep compassion and a creative spark, Amrita co-founded The Gourmet Leaf. Her goal? To make plant-based comfort food so readily available and delicious that people never have to choose between their cravings and kindness. She asks, quite simply: If we can enjoy the same amazing flavors without hurting animals or the planet, why on earth wouldn’t we?

For Amrita, this is all about helping animals and reducing suffering through simple, mindful, everyday food choices. She’s passionate about proving that vegan food isn’t just ethical—it’s naturally lighter, healthier, and full of life. That’s why even the most indulgent dishes at The Gourmet Leaf are crafted to make vegan food better by default.

With her compassionate approach and love for flavor, Amrita continues to guide The Gourmet Leaf toward a future where health, taste, and ethics live beautifully on the same plate.
